Ever need to check your email on your laptop when your child is busy using the Internet on the family PC? Road Runner will show you how to share your Road Runner High-Speed connection among all your home PC's.

There are different ways to do this. The two methods are described below. Once you determine which setup is right for you, you will also want to determine whether you want a wireless network or a standard cabled network.

This guide will show you just a few of the products available for both wireless and cabled networks. There's even one selection for a hybrid between the two.

The Basic method requires you to purchase a hub (a network device that costs around $30), and to lease additional IP(s) from Time Warner Cable on a monthly basis for $9.95 per month per IP. (Call 1-800-821-7250 to order.)

(A single IP is required for each device you want connected to the Internet. All Road Runner customers already have 1 IP address.)

This is very easy to setup. Once you lease additional IP's from our customer service personnel and purchase a hub, all that is needed is to plug all the PC's and the cable modem into the hub.

Here is a diagram to show you what a typical setup will may look like:

The Advanced setup requires only 1 IP address (already included in your current Road Runner monthly subscription), but a more expensive device called a router ($100-$300).

Your cable modem plugs into the router along with all your PC's. The difference with this method is that the router creates an internal network of your PC's with it's own IP addressing scheme. This allows you to use 1 IP address from Road Runner, and have (almost) limitless IP's internally (i.e. in your home-network).

Below is what a typical configuration might look like:
