Road Runner will provide support for earlier releases of
Windows (95 and above) and Macintosh (8.6 and above) on a best
effort basis only, and cannot guarantee optimal performance.
Road Runner supports processors with speeds between 166MHz
and 400MHz on a best effort basis, but cannot guarantee optimal
performance.
The Ethernet card must be installed and available for Road
Runner use. Road Runner is intended for stand-alone computers;
for information on local networking capability, contact your
local cable provider.
Please note that your computer system, as well as certain
broadband services, may require resources beyond Road Runner's
minimum standards.
We will not install Road Runner on a computer that doesn't meet our
basic requirements - this means it has to run Windows or MacOS. However,
we won't interfere if you want to install a different operating system
after a successful installation.
If you are using hardware we don't specifically list as meeting our
requirements, we cannot support you if that computer can't maintain a
Road Runner connection. We also can't guarantee any sort of speed levels
with hardware we are not familiar with.
We don't recommend using much slower/older equipment such as 486-based
computers with Road Runner, as they rarely provide satisfactory speeds.
